Q: Where does ‘Happy Heather’ come from and what does it mean?

A: Happy Heather was born from my deep interest in the subject of happiness and a desire to use my natural talent for organizing to help people who need a little more order in their life, and less stress in planning important events. A few years ago, I read “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin. The idea that you don’t have to be un-happy to work toward higher happiness rang true with me. Since then, it’s become a hobby to learn more about happiness and ways to achieve even greater happiness in life. Two things that make me very happy are delivering perfectly planned parties for others, and creating an orderly home and office through organizing. 

Q: What is your business philosophy?
A: I believe that the more you help others the more they will want to help you. It’s a fact that nice people are more successful and you don’t have to sacrifice kindness to get ahead in business. Cheerfulness is often taken for granted, people think it is instinctual but it takes a conscious effort to choose to act in a cheerful manner. Happiness is a choice whether in life or in business. Every day we have the freedom to choose our words carefully, present a positive attitude, and build kindness in the world around us.

Q: Who inspires you?
A: I’m inspired by people who change the world through positiveness and goodness. This includes not only those in the public eye but also every day people who exude happy vibes and bring smiles to the faces of those around them. Because of their drive and vision I’m inspired by people like Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, Julia Child, Lauren Conrad, and so many others.

Q: What is your organizational style?
A: My favorite approach to organizing any space is a clean sweep. The process of emptying a space, categorizing the items, and putting back only what is truly beneficial and needful, gives me a sense of purpose and energy. I love looking at a space and visualizing how to make the most of it. The idea of an orderly, simplistic, efficient, clean, and beautiful space sparks my creativity and makes me excited about my work!

Q: What is your favorite type of event to work on?
A: I’m a sucker for a good theme party, which is why children’s birthday parties and themed charity events are my favorites to plan. I’m currently obsessed with the idea of having a “Real Housewives of Disney” party and Julia Child themed dinner party.

Q: What do you aspire to?
A: I aspire to lead a good life, filled with happiness and to spread that happiness to those around me. I want to leave a positive mark on the world so when people think of me they think “Happy Heather”.
